Freezing Rain: Situational Update 5

ice on treesSHUNIAH, ON – April 27, 2017: There has been no known power outages or road closures in the Municipality of Shuniah since the last situational update.

Environment Canada has ended the special weather statements that were issued last night, and is reporting 60% chance of flurries today. A much-needed warm weekend is expected.

McKenzie School is closed today and all city and rural school buses are cancelled.

Shuniah road crews continue to maintain our roads.  The MTO Traveller Information Services website is reporting that Highway 11/17 through Shuniah is partially covered while bare and wet in Thunder Bay. We recommend you allow extra time to reach your destination and ensure you leave extra space around your vehicle while driving.
