Resident Fined

At approximately 5:15pm on June 17, 2014, an open air brush fire was discovered on Lakeshore Drive.  Upon arrival of responding fire personnel, it was discovered that no one was attending to the fire and the resident had insufficient fire suppression resources available to put out the fire.

Camp Fire Safety – Tip Sheet

To minimize the risk of fire and burn injury, the fire service recommends the following cottage fire safety tips:

Install smoke alarms on every storey and outside all sleeping areas. It’s the law for all Ontario homes, cottages, cabins and seasonal homes to have working smoke alarms on every storey and outside all sleeping areas.

Daytime Burning Restrictions

It is that time of year again, although it does not look like it by the weather.  This is a reminder that Daytime Open Air Burning is restricted from April 1 to October 31.  There is to be no open air burning between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
